Environmental Engineering Services
Many developments pose difficult hydrology and hydraulic problems that skilled engineers need to confront in today's highly regulated environment. JAS can perform hydrology and hydraulic analysis of any size watershed project site along with detailed maps. We can assist in permitting for site developments containing a creek or floodplain and/or if your development disturbs more than an acre of land. National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Stormwater Management and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans are a critical part of any development and the JAS staff is experienced in solving a variety of problems related to these type developments.
JAS provides the technical expertise for flood plain studies needed for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FAMA) flood insurance rate map changes including FEMA Letter of Map Revision (LOMR's) and FEMA Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA's) as well as FEMA Elevation Certificates and FEMA Flood Determination Letters.
The deposition of fill or dredged materials into Water of the U.S., including wetlands is regulated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE). JAS is COE approved to perform wetland delineations in order to determine the existence of jurisdictional wetlands. Our staff is trained in wetland mitigation design and Section 404 permitting.
Wetlands Surveying and Mapping
Joseph A. Schudt & Associates provides GPS surveying and mapping services for wetlands delineation and mitigation projects. A wetlands delineation is typically required prior to construction and project impacts may require mitigation design to attain permits. Wetlands are regulated by various federal, state and county agencies. JAS qualified personnel can assist in Section 404 permitting and Phase I Environmental Assessments.
